Keeping America Strong Means – Sustaining
Strong, Ready & Resilient Military Families
Serving our nation as a member of America’s Armed Military Forces is a great honor. In order to serve and do it well, we need strong and resilient military families. The training and deployments required to meet our missions’ requirements and support our national security puts stress on Military Service Members and on Military Families.
There are an abundance of good programs available to help Military Service Members, Veterans and Military Families cope with the challenges of work & family life balance. These programs help service members define and maintain a positive climate of family readiness. Increasing awareness and access to community-based resources is a key component of building and sustaining strong and resilient military families.
The Women Veterans ROCK Series on “Strengthening America’s Military Families” has been dedicated:
- To increasing awareness of the availability of community-based resources for military families;
- To identifying and revealing opportunities for improvements in processes and frameworks; and,
- To engaging the Women Veterans ROCK Delegation To Capitol Hill to serve as its Advocate On The Hill for “Strengthening America’s Military Families.”
Where do you go if you need help and/or have questions?
There are several core ways for Service Members, Veterans and Military Families to get help navigating access to military specific resources and other community-based programs. You may seek out:
- Post or Installation through Family Support Centers.
- On Line through Military One Source. This can be accessed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
- Your local community at the National Guard Family Assistance Centers. There are nearly 400 centers in the United States.
- In your community at the local VA Center. These can be found in many local communities
